Celebration of Life for Janet in Asheville NC

We will be celebrating the life of our dear Janet Grace Barratt by sharing music and memories in the chapel at Brooks Howell retirement home, 

Asheville NC.

APRIL 13^th at 3.30pm

BROOKS HOWELL CHAPEL

INFORMATION:

Brooks Howell Chapel is inside Brooks Howell Retirement Home.

266 Merrimon Ave. Asheville NC 28801

The entrance is across the road from Claxton Elementary School.

Parking is available anywhere inside the property.

Go to the reception area front desk for directions to the chapel.

Please arrive anytime from 3pm for a 3.30 start.

We anticipate the event will run for about two hours.

There will be a short intermission with light refreshments as well as a reception time afterwards.

TRIBUTES:

We would like to invite those close to Janet to share stories, photos, prayers, literature and music in her memory. Music students especially are encouraged to share pieces you worked on in lessons.

You are invited to join us in remembrance of our dearly beloved

Janet Grace Barratt

on the following occasions:

The funeral will take place on Thursday the 7^th of February 2019

at 1.30pm, at Gedling Crematorium, Nottinghamshire, NG4 4QH.

A Celebration of Janet's life will be held on Saturday the 23^rd of February

at 2.30pm, at Southwell Baptist Church, Nottingham Road, Southwell,

NG25 0LG (by kind permission). You are invited to participate if you wish.

An opportunity to view Janet’s body will be available on Wednesday the 6^th of February

from 2 ‘til 5pm, at A.W. Lymn Funeral Service Chapel, Mansfield Woodhouse, NG19 9JZ

Refreshments will be available after the funeral and at the celebration.

To the Funeral

Gedling Crematorium is situated to the north-east of Nottingham. It can be reached from the A614 (Doncaster Road) by turning off at the traffic lights situated just north of its junction with the A60. This is the B684 to Mapperley. Proceed several miles to Mapperley Plains. The crematorium is signposted as a left turn between the Travellers Rest and the Brookfields Garden Centre.

It can also be reached from Arnold by taking the Main Street through Arnold, past the Leisure Centre and bearing right on to Coppice Road. At the end, turn left into Mapperley Plains. The crematorium is signposted on the right.

From Southwell, it can be reached through Oxton and Calverton. It is not advisable to go through Lambley because of road works and poor signposting.

For those accepting the invitation to come back to Southwell, from the Crematorium turn right on to Mapperley Plains. Follow the signs for Calverton and Oxton. Take the B6386 past Oxton. As it enters Southwell, it becomes Westgate. 69 Westgate is just past the parish church on the right.

To the Celebration

Southwell Baptist Church is on the Nottingham Road in Southwell, just near the Leisure Centre and Minster School. There is parking in the grounds, along the street and in the Leisure Centre.

At the funeral

All are welcome back to 69 Westgate, Southwell NG25 0LD after the service for light refreshments.

At the Celebration

Refreshments will be provided at the interval and at the end of the service.

Memorial Tributes (for the Celebration)

You are invited to share memories and photos at the Celebration, either in writing or in saying a few words. If you were one of Janet's students, you may like to perform something you did with her. It would be helpful if you could let us know beforehand and whether you would need an accompanist. Please try to take no more than 3 minutes in order to fit everyone in, at the absolute maximum, 5 minutes. Janet's former piano will be used.
